Shepherd Boy to King

The first illustration on our coloring page depicts young David tending his sheep, showcasing his responsibility and devotion even at a young age. This scene sets the stage for his bravery later on, when he faces Goliath.

After discussing this scene, engage children with a related activity. Ask them to draw and color a picture of themselves performing a responsibility, fostering a sense of pride in their own duties.

David and Goliath

The next scene on our coloring page captures the iconic moment when David, armed with only a sling and a stone, faces off against the towering giant Goliath. This illustration highlights David's courage and faith, showing that with God on his side, even the smallest and weakest can overcome significant challenges.

Encourage kids to think about times they've faced their own "giants" by asking them to share or draw pictures of situations where they had to be brave. This activity helps children connect with David's story on a personal level.

King David's Wisdom and Love

After defeating Goliath, David goes on to become a wise and compassionate king. Our coloring page continues this journey, featuring scenes that highlight David's love for God, his people, and his family.

These scenes provide an excellent opportunity to teach first graders about the importance of wisdom, love, and kindness in leadership. By discussing these images, you can help children understand the qualities of a good leader and the responsibilities that come with power.

David and Jonathan's Friendship

One of the key relationships in David's life was his deep friendship with Jonathan, the son of King Saul. This illustration on our coloring page depicts the two friends together, highlighting the importance of loyal and meaningful friendships.

To explore this topic further, encourage children to think about their own friendships. They can draw and color pictures of their friends and write about what makes their friendships special.

David and His Family

The final scene on our coloring page shows King David with his family, emphasizing the importance of love, support, and unity within a family. This image serves as a reminder that even great leaders have families who love and care for them.

Encourage children to talk about their own families, drawing and coloring pictures that represent the things they love to do together. This activity fosters a sense of appreciation and gratitude for the special people in their lives.
