Story Recap: Jonah and the Big Fish

Jonah, a prophet of God, is told to go to the city of Nineveh and preach about the coming judgment. However, Jonah disobeys God and runs away by boat. God then sends a great storm, and Jonah's fellow sailors, fearing for their lives, throw him into the sea, where he is swallowed by a big fish (or whale) and spends three days and three nights in its belly.

Jonah repents, and the fish vomits him onto dry land. He then faithfully goes to Nineveh, where his preaching leads to the repentance of its citizens, and God spares the city.
